Emerging Colors in Flooring
A recent article in FloorTrends Magazine by Annette Callari, ASID explores the direction of color in flooring for 2013 and beyond:
"Color enriches and influences every aspect of our lives; from what we wear to the environments we create. Of course, floor covering is an integral foundation for our environments, and the right colors are critical. The connection between colors we choose to live with, and where we live, is hard-wired, always evolving (of course) but with deep-rooted influences."
Most interesting about the color forecast is the influence of Macro trends - trends such as an austere worldwide economy and environmental concerns. Moreover, there are dramatic regional differences in the color forecast that reflect social and regional diversity. In due time, all flooring such as Hardwood, Laminate, Cork, Bamboo, Vinyl and Leather will be influenced by the adoption of these forecasted colors.
This is the color palette that is forecast to be influential in 2013 and beyond.
