Transitions are carefully packed in sturdy long tubes or boxes and shipped via UPS or FedEx from North Carolina or Georgia. Signature is not required upon delivery. If your order comprises both lightweight items and flooring, you will receive multiple shipments.
A typical OnFlooring shipment exceeds 1,500 pounds and may even surpass two tons in weight! Additionally, our shipments are transported through commercial LTL freight carriers using large trucks. Although this may sound intimidating, there is no need to be alarmed.
A representative from the shipping company will contact you to arrange delivery on a weekday, typically between 8 AM and 5 PM, and usually within a 4-hour time slot. Your flooring will be transported on one or more pallets and delivered to your curbside via a truck equipped with a lift-gate. Using a pallet jack, the driver will move the pallet onto the lift-gate and lower it onto the street adjacent to your curb.
To bring the flooring into your home or garage, you must be capable of transporting individual cartons that weigh between 30-70 lbs each from the curbside. If you have any physical limitations that could prevent you from completing this task, it is advisable to arrange for assistance beforehand. Also, you will likely have to dispose of the pallet and shrink wrap.
If offered, and you opt to pick up your flooring order, you or your representative must possess expertise in picking up building materials. A confirmation email will ask you to acknowledge this requirement.
You must have access to a pick-up truck, box truck, trailer, commercial van, or an equivalent vehicle. The cargo weight capacity of your vehicle must be suitable for your order's weight. Sedans, SUVs, station wagons, minivans, or any similar vehicles are not allowed. At the pick-up location, a forklift will load your pallet(s) of flooring onto your vehicle. Your flooring must be picked up promptly or storage fees will be added.
After receiving your item(s), please thoroughly examine them. You must sign a Proof of Delivery, and any damage to the item or packaging should be indicated on the delivery receipt. A signature is mandatory for all deliveries, and the driver cannot finalize delivery without a signed receipt. Keep your mobile phone ready to capture photos of any damage. If damage occurs during shipping and is not documented on the delivery receipt, OnFlooring cannot assist with processing any claims on your behalf.
