Quarter Round, Flooring to Walls and Cabinets

A Quarter Round, also known as shoe molding or base shoe, is a molding that hides the expansion gap between the flooring and the wall. It can also be applied over various baseboards, making it a versatile option.

T-Molding, Same Height Floors

If the two floors meet evenly, such as laminate-to-laminate, vinyl-to-vinyl, or wood-to-wood, a T-Molding is the right choice. The top of the molding sits above both surfaces and bridges the expansion gap. This is the most common transition used between rooms, hallways, and continuous flooring runs. T-Molding also works when the height difference is very small.

Slim Trim, Same or Different Height Floors

The Slim Trim is a versatile multifunctional 3-in-1 transition strip featuring a low-profile design. It can function as a T-Molding, Reducer, or End Cap/Carpet Transition and is capable of connecting floors of varying heights. With the optional dowel installation hardware, it can even achieve a 19mm reduction from one side to another.

Reducer, Different Height Floors

When one floor is higher than the other, a Reducer is used. This creates a gentle slope between surfaces and eliminates trip points. Reducers are commonly used for vinyl-to-tile, laminate-to-concrete, wood-to-vinyl plank, or any installation where one material is thicker than the other. Both flush-mount and overlap styles are available depending on your flooring type.

End Cap, Ending a Floor at a Vertical Surface

The End Cap trim is designed to finish the flooring with a vertical face on one side. It serves as an effective transition to carpet, masonry fireplaces, sliding doors, and exterior doors. It is also referred to as a "baby threshold" or "carpet reducer"

Overlap Stair Nose, Ending the Floor at a Level Change

The Overlap Stair Nose molding is designed to create an aesthetically pleasing threshold and offer the necessary overhang for transitioning from one floor level to another, such as stepping into a sunken room or onto a landing. It maintains the expansion gap for the floating floor.

The VersaEdge stair nosing is a versatile solution for stair transitions that can accommodate different floor thicknesses and installation methods such as overlap, lock down, and flush mount. It can be applied to stairs, landings, or any other step-down situation with ease. There are three versions: 1.5" tall aluminum, 1" tall PVC, and 1.52" tall rounded.
