A typical ONFLOORING shipment weighs over 1,500 lbs and can often weigh more than two tons! Plus our shipments will arrive to you via a commercial LTL freight carrier in a big truck. Now that we have your attention, do not be frightened. Do understand, however, that this process is not the same as receiving a 5 lb box at your door from UPS with no signature required.
Your order is filled from a regional warehouse/distribution center from our manufacturer or distribution partners. Individual boxes of flooring, typically weighing between 30-60 lbs each are shrink wrapped onto one or more pallets. Once shipped, the flooring is sent to the closest terminal to your delivery address by the freight carrier. Depending on the warehouse location, and your delivery address, this takes between 2-10 business days. Once the flooring arrives at your local freight terminal, an agent from the shipping company will give you a call to schedule a delivery on a weekday, usually between 8 AM - 5 PM, and with a 4-hour time window.
Shipments for moldings are securely packaged in long hard tubes or boxes and are shipped UPS or FEDEX. They are delivered with no signature required and all of the above is not applicable. If your order includes both flooring and light weight items, you will have multiple shipments.
One or more pallets of flooring will be delivered on a lift-gate equipped truck to your curbside at the end of your driveway. The truck driver will use a pallet jack to slide the pallet onto the lift-gate, and then lower the lift-gate onto the street next to your curb.
You will need to be able to carry individual cartons of flooring weighing between 30-60 lbs each from the curbside into your home or garage. A 500 sq.ft. order will have around 25-30 cartons. If you have physical limitations that prevent you from doing this, please arrange for some help in advance.
Upon delivery please inspect your item(s). You will be required to sign a Proof of Delivery. Please note any damage to the item or packaging on the delivery receipt. A signature is required for all deliveries; the driver is unable to complete delivery without a signed delivery receipt. Have your cell phone ready for photos to document any damage. ONFLOORING cannot process any claims on your behalf for shipping damage unless the damage is noted on the delivery receipt.
