Floorcovering Weekly recently reported on Pantone's Color Trend Predictions for 2018. We find it interesting that the forecasted colors are intense. Pantone Color Institute executive director Leatrice Eiseman states:

"Intense colors seem to be a natural application of our intense lifestyles and thought processes these days."

Curiously, our sales of flooring products are trending strongly towards matte finishes and subdued hues of gray and beige, not aligned with the forecast! It could be that flooring is considered a backdrop for other interior furnishings, and subdued flooring colors make the bright colors stand out?
